Here’s a business opportunity Chris Zeilinski wanted me to announce. Last year he won 2nd place in the RIT Business Plan Competition.

The business name is Atomic Security. Here is the executive summary from the business plan:

“Social engineering” refers to the manipulation of people in order to gain access to confidential information. Atomic Security is a service provider that analyzes the strength of the human element of corporate information security. Through the use of contractually arranged, unique social engineering experiments, Atomic Security will probe an organization’s employees and report on the likelihood of an attacker successfully manipulating them into giving out confidential company information. Atomic will allow clients to see holes in their company’s security beyond those exposed by traditional network penetration tests and offer consultation on how to reduce the risk of an information or physical security breach.

What I’m looking for are maybe 4-5 people who have a background in information security and/or hacking, and they MUST have strong knowledge of social engineering. Knowledge of and/or interest in psychomanipulation, interrogation, and even theater would also be good things to have. I’m not terribly picky as I know this is not a revenue generating venture yet, but I expect that the people who get involved with it will want to stick with it and thus I don’t want to end up being someone’s teacher.

If you could just send out a message telling everyone in this group that I am looking for these things and that those interested should send me a copy of their resume and any background they have in infosec/social engineering, it would be greatly appreciated. You can even copy and paste what I’ve said here if that’s easiest.

Any correspondence can go to atomicsecurity at gmail dot com

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

Chris Zielinski

Good Afternoon-

My name is Pat Harrigan and I am a campus marketing coordinator with Collegeboxes. We offer summer storage and shipping services to students and we’re looking for a campus manager at RIT for the spring season. A campus manager basically heads up all of our marketing activities on campus. This includes, distributing flyers and posters, hosting informational sessions, and partnering with different student groups to get the word out about our service. Collegeboxes has been in business for 8 years and currently services more than 8,000 students nationwide. I am contacting you to see you if there is anyone involved with your organization that may be interested in the position. We have also had entire student groups and teams successfully divide up the responsibility. It’s a great way for a student group, team, or an individual to make a few thousand dollars over the course of the semester. Thanks for your consideration and please let me know if you have any questions. I’ll include our typical classified ad below to provide a little more info.

Thanks, Pat
